Fort Lauderdale bridge repair project set to bring months of lane shifts and sidewalk detours, work begins April 13

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Drivers and pedestrians who use South Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale should expect a long stretch of construction activity as Broward County moves ahead with a major bridge repair project designed to improve both safety and the condition of the roadway.

According to the county, work is set to begin Monday, April 13, along South Andrews Avenue between Davie Boulevard and Southwest 11th Street.

The project will include replacement of the concrete bridge barrier walls, reconstruction of the sidewalk, and milling and resurfacing of the roadway. The effort is being funded through gas tax dollars and, unless weather or other unexpected conditions interfere, is expected to continue through August 2026…
