An anonymous tip passed from a local television station to law enforcement led to the arrest of an Okeechobee man and the rescue of six animals from a Canal Point ranch.
Jose Arreaga, 34, faces multiple counts of animal cruelty after the Martin County Sheriff’s Office investigated a property in the 16000 block of Connors Highway.
The case began when a citizen contacted WPEC TV-12 with concerns about animal welfare on the property. The station then alerted the sheriff’s office.
