13 impaired drivers arrested, 332 citations, warnings across SLC during July 4th weekend

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Law enforcement agencies across St. Lucie County spent the Independence Day weekend looking for impaired drivers, resulting in 13 DUI arrests as deputies and police officers worked to keep roads safe during the holiday.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office conducted a high-visibility traffic enforcement operation from July 3-5, assigning five deputies specifically to DUI and traffic enforcement throughout the county. By the end of the weekend, deputies had made seven DUI-related arrests and issued 332 traffic citations and warnings, including 35 citations and 297 warnings.
