A landspout touched down near the St. Lucie River along Florida’s Atlantic Coast, crossed the water as a waterspout, and returned to land. In 14 minutes, it traveled more than 2 miles through residential areas of the city.

The tornado first made landfall near the Tarpon Bay Yacht Club, lifting pool structures and damaging roofs. It then crossed the St. Lucie River as a waterspout for five to seven minutes before making landfall again in Bay St. Lucie, where winds of 65 to 75 mph knocked down trees and damaged homes…
