To understand the stakes of a botched launch, look no further than Clarksville, Tennessee. Crews from Clarksville Fire Rescue recently responded to an absolute nightmare scenario at the Trice Landing Park boat ramp.
Photos from the scene showed a silver SUV almost entirely submerged in the river, with the water level reaching the bottom of the driver’s side windows. The vehicle had been completely backed into the deep water with an attached boat trailer still hooked up to the hitch.
Fortunately, the fire department confirmed there were no injuries during the incident. However, the massive recovery effort required the boat ramp to be shut down entirely while crews worked to retrieve the waterlogged vehicle.
