I’m Deb Kowalski, and in my Port St. Lucie house, timed dry used to win by reflex. Pick a long enough cycle, walk away, and the laundry ought to be dry. As of mid-September 2026, that still sounds more dependable to me than asking a sensor to make the call. It also sounds as though any extra running would be too small to bother with.
Here in Florida, I’m learning to separate the feeling of control from what the dryer actually does. Timed dry promises a length of time, not a check on whether the clothes need all of it. If the moisture sensor is working, I’d rather let the condition of the load decide when the machine stops. That is a narrower, more useful promise than simply giving every load a long turn.
