In a 4-3 vote, the St. Lucie County Fire Board voted Wednesday to terminate Chief Jeff Lee’s contract without cause.
“At the end of the day, it’s gotten very messy. It’s not about one single decision that he’s made. It’s about bringing peace and calm and respect back to the district and the men and women that serve this community every day, and it just got to a point where he was not effective anymore,” said St. Lucie County Commissioner and Board Member Jamie Fowler.
