18-year-old found with gun at Vero Beach High School says he was ‘holding it for someone’

VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) – New details were released regarding the student who brought a gun to Vero Beach High School (VBHS) on Monday. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) said at 7:18 a.m., a school resource deputy at VBHS was contacted by the assistant principal regarding a student. The administration was conducting a “vape sting” at one of the boys’ bathrooms, inside senior 18-year-old Martrez Barnes was found along with 15 other students.
