Landmark Martin County Restaurant Expected To Close For Good Next Month

A popular Florida restaurant that’s been serving Treasure Coast customers for over 70 years is planning to close its doors for good.

A Facebook post from Harry and the Natives in Hobe Sound claims it will be closing on October 12th, “unless something happens.”

Restaurant owner Harry MacArthur blames food prices that have increased, labor costs that have risen and a decrease in attendance since the COVID pandemic.

He says “everything’s gone up” and they don’t have it anymore. MacArthur says he has received texts and calls from people like Republican Congressman Brian Mast and other conservatives offering to host fundraisers to save the restaurant.

Harry and the Natives, in recent years, has become known for their signs posted outside the restaurant in support of Governor DeSantis and at times being critical of President Biden.

MacArthur says he was trying to encourage debate.
