Maine Authorities Investigating Death of Cushing Seasonal Resident

Cushing, ME – The Maine Marine Patrol and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death of Donald McBeth, 83, a seasonal resident of Cushing and a permanent resident of Vero Beach, Florida. McBeth’s body was discovered yesterday evening on the shore near Gaunt Neck Road in Cushing.

Authorities were alerted at around 7:00 p.m. when McBeth failed to attend a family gathering. The Maine Marine Patrol joined the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine Warden Service, and other emergency responders in the search. At approximately 8:00 p.m., local fire and EMS personnel located his body. McBeth was pronounced dead at the scene.

McBeth’s body has been transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner for further investigation.
