The Vero Beach Museum of Art reopened this weekend, and will offer free museum admission through October 27.
On October 5, the museum unveiled “Roadside Reverie: Glass Works by John Miller,” the artist’s largest solo museum exhibition to date. Guests can tour more than 40 larger-than-life glass sculptures spanning four of Miller’s artistic series: “Hot Stuff,” “The Blue Plate Special,” “Do Not Duplicate,” and “Classic Heat.” These works reflect Miller’s fascination with American automotive and food culture and the Pop Art movement of the 1960s.
Additionally, the museum will host its Back in Action Bash October 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families are invited to spend this day off for Indian River County students by making art in the Atrium, sketching in the galleries, and more. All necessary materials will be provided.
Each day, guests can take a guided gallery tour with a museum docent at 2 p.m.; pick up a family guide for self-guided activities; and get creative in the Art Zone with activities and toys that spark curiosity and support learning.
