Port St. Lucie resident accidentally discharges gun inside garage, police say

The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) is actively investigating an isolated shooting incident at the Newport Isles neighborhood.

PSLPD responded to a house on Newport Isles Boulevard at around 11:20 a.m. Saturday morning to single bullet shot to the garage.

In a recent update, PSLPD said that after reviewing the surrounding video and re-interviewing occupants of the home, it was revealed that a 19-year-old resident accidentally discharged a rifle while alone in the garage.

Police say no one was injured, and there is no known threat to the public.
