A Jimmy John’s location in Stuart, Florida, recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The sandwich shop, located at 2117 SE Federal Highway, was temporarily shut down following a state inspection on December 20, 2024.
What Happened?
The inspection, conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, uncovered several issues. Among the findings were four violations, including:
- Basic Violations: Inspectors noted a dead and live roach attached to a trap, along with nine additional dead roaches in the establishment.
- High-Priority Violations: Three live roaches were observed on the premises, and the restaurant was operating without a required license from the Division of Hotels and Restaurants.
Due to these violations, the eatery was temporarily closed. A follow-up inspection took place on December 27, 2024, but the restaurant remained closed. According to the Department’s website, a change of ownership is currently pending.
