VERO BEACH, Fla (CBS12) — Two men riding ATVs sparked chaos in Vero Beach with a late-night high-speed chase that put their children passengers at risk. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) is now sharing the footage that led to felony charges.
The dangerous pursuit unfolded in the early hours of last Sunday morning when IRCSO deputies attempted to stop unregistered all-terrain vehicles spotted at the intersection of Highland Drive Southwest and Sunset Drive Southwest. Instead of pulling over, two of the ATV riders chose to flee, with children onboard.
Footage released by the sheriff’s office reveals deputies chasing the suspects while pleading with them to stop. The video captures one deputy shouting, “Hey, Sheriff’s Office… Stop!” but the ATVs roared off…
