A Florida bakery and custom cake shop has landed in hot water after a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) inspection revealed a series of hygiene and food safety violations—though no active pests were found on the premises. The bakery, Caliz Cake Design, located at 15588 SW 72nd St., was visited on Monday by inspectors Wenndy Ayerdis and trainee Margaret Alvarez. Their findings were significant enough to earn the operation a “Re-Inspection Required,” which serves as the FDACS equivalent of a failing grade.
