Update on Georgia severe storms tornado & flooding risks extend to Alabama & North Florida 4/6/2025

STORM PREDICTION CENTER SEVERE WEATHER RISK GEORGIA, ALABAMA & NORTH FLORIDA WITH ELEVATED TORNADO RISK

METRO AREAS INCLUDE ATLANTA GA, ROME GA, MACON GA, AUGUSTA, GA, MONTGOMERY AL, BIRMINGHAM AL MOBILE AL, COLUMBUS GA, TALLAHASSEE FL

Severe thunderstorms tha have been over the Lower Mississippi and lower Ohio Valleys for the last 4 days is finally shifting eastward as low pressure develops in the Gulf States and a trailing north south cold front makes an advance to Georgia today as well as neighboring Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a “slight risk” or 15 percent chance for severe thunderstorms today and tonight along with an elevated 2 to 5 percent tornado risk.
