Seven-Foot Gator, With A Limp, Removed From Florida Backyard After Causing Concern

A seven-foot alligator sporting a noticeable limp was safely removed from a residential backyard in Hobe Sound this week, thanks to the combined efforts of a deputy and a seasoned gator trapper.

Residents of the neighborhood contacted the Martin County Sheriff’s Office on Friday after spotting the sizable reptile limping around a backyard, raising concerns for the safety of pets and neighbors. The alligator’s persistent presence and apparent injury prompted the call for professional assistance.

“Despite its limp, this alligator was extremely strong,” stated a spokesperson for the MCSO. “It was clear that a two-person effort would be required for a safe removal.”…
