‘Candyman’ caught hiding deadly candy-like drugs in body as sheriff busts drug ring

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman, dubbed the “Candyman,” is accused of hiding her disguised product in her private areas once the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) came knocking on her door.

Brightly dyed fentanyl disguised in small folds resembling candy wrappers made its way into Martin County, leading the sheriff’s office into a long-term drug trafficking investigation dubbed “Operation Tooth Fairy.”

The sheriff’s office said 41-year-old Julianne C. Perez — also known as the “Candyman” — and 28-year-old Dillon James Clark were involved in a significant narcotics distribution network.

Detectives discovered that Perez had established a steady customer base, with people frequently seen waiting outside her residence for drugs. During the execution of a search warrant, Perez attempted to conceal narcotics in her private areas to avoid detection. Despite her efforts, trafficking amounts of narcotics were recovered, and Perez confessed to her drug trafficking activities.

Throughout the investigation, authorities seized and removed the following narcotics from the streets:

  • 278.6 grams of fentanyl
  • 83.2 grams of cocaine
  • 136.4 grams of methamphetamines
  • 42 oxycodone pills

Detectives said Perez and Clark were major distributors of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamines, and other illegal drugs on the Treasure Coast. Perez allegedly received her alias since she was known for disguising fentanyl to resemble candy in a wrapper…
