Investigation Underway After Teen Found Unresponsive at Stuart Behavioral Health Facility

A tragic incident has unfolded at Coral Shores Behavioral Health in Stuart, where 17-year-old Denzelle Sullivan was found unresponsive in a shower with the water still running. Despite efforts made by emergency personnel, the young teen sadly passed away. According to CBS12, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed this distressing news and has commenced an investigation to shed light on the circumstances leading to Sullivan’s death.

Amidst claims of bruising on Sullivan’s body, Sheriff John Budensiek explained that these were the result of life-saving attempts, including a CPR machine and an invasive bone marrow procedure. “There’s some bruising on the arm, that took place from fire rescue putting on a CPR machine that was doing chest compressions,” Budensiek told CBS12. “Then there is a hole in the leg which was also from fire rescue drilling in to try and do an iv into the bone marrow of the leg.” The sheriff expressed hope that the ongoing investigation will be able to quickly provide clarity and answers to those grieving.

Overflowing with grief and seeking answers, friends and loved ones gathered to protest outside the facility, demanding transparency. Kimani Paul, Sullivan’s girlfriend, relayed her profound loss to CBS12, “I thought my bf was going to come home to me. I thought I was going to be able to hug him and hold him and go to the beach again and now I’m rushing to the hospital and my boyfriend is dying, can’t breathe on his own, cant do nothing on his own.”…
