ST. LUCIE COUNTY — St. Lucie County’s Public Safety Department, Martin County Emergency Management Agency and Florida Power & Light Co. will conduct a quarterly test of the outdoor warning sirens for the St. Lucie nuclear power plant at noon Thursday, June 5.
The test will include a one-minute activation of all 91 sirens located within the 10-mile emergency planning zone surrounding the plant. A voice message will be broadcast on the sirens’ public-address system before and after the test, stating: “This is only a test.”
