Port St Lucie residents demand traffic signals at dangerous intersection

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Thursday afternoon officers with the Port St Lucie Police Department were seen on patrol, at the intersection of Glades Cut Off Road and Commerce Centre Drive to make sure drivers are obeying all signs and signals.

The intersection has been a focus area for traffic enforcement lately especially after an elderly couple died following a car crash that occurred on Memorial Day.

Glades Cut Off Road is a two lane road with a posted speed limit of 50 miles per hour and no traffic signals. Drivers coming from Commerce Centre Drive or Wylder Parkway said attempting to make their way across the road is a nightmare…
