Orlando, Fla. – Dangerous heat levels and scattered afternoon storms are expected to impact much of Central Florida through Thursday, with peak heat indices reaching up to 102°F across inland cities like Orlando, Kissimmee, and Leesburg.
According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, high humidity will persist under a strong ridge of high pressure. Daytime highs will range from the upper 80s along the coast to the low 90s inland, but “feels-like” temperatures could soar past triple digits each afternoon. A moderate rip current risk is also in effect along Treasure Coast beaches, and afternoon storms are likely inland, especially from Okeechobee to Sanford.
The hottest stretch is forecast through midweek, with Greater Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Vero Beach seeing heat indices between 99°F and 102°F daily.
