Martin County Sheriff’s Office urges e-bike safety education after 2 recent crashes

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — Two e-bike crashes that resulted in injuries have led the Martin County Sheriff’s Office to stress electric bike safety.

In a Monday Facebook post, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek urged parents and adult riders to educate themselves on how e-bike riders operate and also the rules of the road.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) warns that the bikes can reach high speeds. The sheriff’s office continues, crashes can occur when people are inexperienced with operating them and don’t have an understanding of traffic laws…
