FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Two barefoot kids found alone near a road led deputies to a “deplorable” home—and a fleeing caregiver accused of child neglect.
Around 8 a.m. on Friday, June 20, deputies with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) responded to a home north of Fort Pierce for reports of unsupervised children wandering the street.
The two children were reportedly found walking in a ditch near a roadway. According to deputies, both were barefoot, one was wearing a soiled diaper, and the other child had on “dirty” pajamas…
