Stuart designates Parks & Recreation Month

STUART – City officials here honored the employees of its Parks & Recreation Division July 14 with a mayoral proclamation designating the Month of July as 2025 Parks and Recreation Month in the City of Stuart.

“City Attorney Lee Baggett read Mayor Campbell Rich’s proclamation into the record at the onset of that evening’s Commission meeting.

“Parks and recreation is an integral part of communities throughout this country, including the City of Stuart,” he said. “Parks and recreation promotes health and wellness, improving the physical and mental health of people who live near parks; [and] encouraging physical activities by providing space for sports, hiking trails, fitness programs and many other activities designed to promote active lifestyles. Parks and recreation programming and education activities, such as out-of-school time programming, youth sports, environmental education and socialization, are critical to childhood development.”…
