TALLAHASSEE – A stipulated agreement to fine and censure a Fort Pierce city planner for his alleged role in a 2020 bid-rigging to lease city property to a local non-profit was delayed at the 11th hour Friday.
The Florida Commission on Ethics (FCOE) had been scheduled to ratify an agreement that would have allowed Vennis Gilmore to keep his City of Fort Pierce job in exchange for a public censure and a $1,000 fine.
Gilmore was expected to admit his role in his non-profit, Lincoln Park Young Professionals (LPYP), winning the city’s approval to lease two, city-owned vacant lots on Avenue D to develop a storage-container pop-up development there…
