10 years after Jupiter teens went missing at sea, it doesn’t get easier | Opinion

There are few things that cause me to smile more than seeing a couple of kids riding their bikes with one hand and with a fishing pole in the other.

I still slow down on the causeway when I see someone, especially a young person, cast a line into the water.

I can’t really pin down the exact reasons, except that maybe they stir up memories normally obscured and hidden away by time and the never-ending daily grind we’re forced to face once we reach a certain age. I think, deep down, we all want to be transported back to a time and place without mortgages, rising grocery prices, endless streaming options and mini-computers disguised as phones in our hands every waking minute…
