A fatal crash in Port St. Lucie has resulted in the death of a 68-year-old man on Tuesday, when his vehicle was involved in a collision that ended with his Dodge Ram overturned in a drainage ditch. The deceased was identified as Robert Cevetello, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD). CBS12 News reported the incident occurred at the intersection of Southwest Mullinax Avenue and Southwest Rosser Boulevard around 4 p.m.
According to the police report, the Dodge Ram, which was operated by Cevetello, was seen erratically passing several vehicles in the northbound lane. The PSLPD stated, driving back into the southbound lane as traffic approached from the north, his vehicle collided with a Chevy Camaro. The Camaro was consequently pushed onto the west shoulder sidewalk, noted Officer Brittany Holly, a police spokesperson, as reported by TCPalm.
The aftermath saw the Dodge Ram losing control further and traveling onto the sidewalk. “The Dodge wound up traveling onto a sidewalk and striking a number of trees before rolling over,” Holly told TCPalm.
