Traffic stop in Jupiter escalates into foot chase, ends with drone-assisted arrests

JUPITER, Fla. (CBS12) — What started as a routine traffic stop in Jupiter turned into a chaotic chase that ended with three men in cuffs and a drone overhead.

The Jupiter Police Department (JPD) reported that it started at a traffic stop at 8:20 p.m. on July 31 near the intersection of South Central Boulevard and Toney Penna Drive. However, that’s when all three occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.

Officers said they quickly established a perimeter and initiated a search, using aerial support from a JPD drone. The suspects, identified as 19-year-old Obed J. Godines Perez, 21-year-old Erick R. Mateo-Perez, and 19-year-old Enrique Diego Andres, were eventually found and taken into custody…
