FORT PIERCE – Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency members struggled to find consensus July 8 on a request for a $25,000 façade grant for an Orange Avenue property due to differences on doors, windows and even a partial roof replacement, ultimately voting to table the request so staff could work with the owner on potential changes.
Redevelopment Specialist Miriam Garcia introduced the request that evening by Botanical Sanctuary LLC for the parcel spanning 722, 724 and 726 Orange Ave. and a small lot.
“I’m here to present the commercial façade grant application that we received last month,” she said. “As you know the intent of the program is to significantly enhance the appearance of the building and eliminate blight within the FPRA district. The program offers financial assistance in the form of a reimbursable grant matching 50 percent up to $25,000.”…
