FORT PIERCE – The City Commission majority approved a conditional use permit Aug. 4 to allow a Sunrise Boulevard homeowner to operate a group home in the residence despite safety and other concerns expressed by an adjoining property owner and some commissioners.
Senior Planner Vennis Gilmore presented the request that evening from LaShanna Roberts.
“Before you we have a conditional use for House of Peace group living for the subject property located at 2021 Sunrise Boulevard,” he said. “The owner is seeking approval to operate a licensed agency for persons with disabilities. The site plan consists of a single-family residence with four bedrooms and two baths located within the C-1 Office/Commercial Zone.”…
