St. Lucie County schools implement random metal detectors at schools

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — It’s hard to believe kids are back to school this week and with the new year comes a new push for safety.

Some districts like Broward County Public Schools have implemented walk-through metal detectors in all high schools. Closer to home, Palm Beach County is expanding their use of metal detectors, with several high schools already employing them.

Now a school district on the Treasure Coast is being added to that list…
