Sheriff’s Deputies, College Students Rescue Severely Injured Sea Turtle With Crushed Shell

Sheriff’s deputies, wildlife officials, and college students in a private boat worked together to rescue a “severely injured” sea turtle offshore Florida this week.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said its Marine Unit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), and good Samaritans on board a private boat worked together after a green sea turtle was spotted in distress.

“Two of the individuals aboard the private vessel — both college students studying marine biology — didnt hesitate to jump in with masks and fins to help guide the turtle safely onto the boat,” the sheriff’s office said…
