Cellphone Crackdown: St. Lucie Public Schools reinforcing policies as new year starts

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Students are back to school this week and that means students won’t have free range of their cell phones like they’ve been used to over the past few months.

In 2023, Florida became the first state to restrict students’ cell phone use during class. Since then, Governor Ron Desantis has gradually cracked down on this across different grade levels.
