A St. Lucie County deputy was taken into custody for civil contempt after failing to comply with multiple court orders. Deputy Darius Anderson was arrested following what Sheriff Richard Del Toro described as a persistent failure to adhere to judicial directives. According to a release from CBS12 News, Anderson did not respond to a subpoena issued on April 22 and missed two scheduled depositions, disregarding court instructions.
Further details emerged as the defense counsel’s motion for an Order to Show Cause on June 20 set a judicial expectation for either attendance at a rescheduled deposition or an explanation in court. However, as reported by Sunshine News in a Facebook post, Anderson missed both the second deposition and his court appearance last Wednesday.
