FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Video circulating on social media shows the moment a deadly crash unfolded on the Florida Turnpike last week, as federal officials confirm the truck driver accused of causing it is undocumented and held a commercial license issued in California.
The video shows the view from inside the cab of Harjinder Singh’s semi as he makes an illegal U-turn — seconds before a minivan slams into the trailer and wedges underneath. Singh himself can be seen in the driver’s seat when the impact occurs.
Troopers say Singh, 28, cut across the highway using an “Official Use Only” access point near mile marker 171 in Fort Pierce on August 12. His tractor-trailer stretched across all northbound lanes, leaving the minivan with no time to brake…
