Indian River Co. School District sees minimal losses as other districts see steep decline

VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — As school districts across the state of Florida see a significant decline in student enrollment, Indian River County Schools are seeing minimal losses. In numbers acquired by CBS12 News, the total enrollment for the district is down just 1.2% from the previous year.

The official count for this school year is 14,073 students, which is down 174 kids from September of last year.

Palm Beach County reported a loss of 3.4% of the student body this year, with Broward County seeing a loss of around 5%. More parents choosing to send their children to private school or homeschool are the main causes for the decline…
