MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — In a bold move to ease the burden on taxpayers, the Martin County School Board approved a $589 million budget for the 2025–2026 school year — cutting the millage rate below the rollback threshold while still funding major classroom and capital improvements.
The Martin County School Board has officially adopted its final budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, approving a total of $588,981,339 during its September 9 board meeting. The budget outlines funding priorities for both daily operations and long-term infrastructure improvements across the district.
The General Fund, which supports essential services such as employee salaries, benefits, curriculum materials, and utilities, accounts for $256.8 million of the total budget, according to the School District.
