Port St. Lucie initiates algae treatment to enhance water quality in Sawgrass Lakes

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A plan is in place to kill the blue-green algae and improve the water quality in Port St. Lucie.

According to Port St. Lucie officials, to ensure public health and safe water, the city of Port St. Lucie began treatments on Monday to exterminate the blue-green algae and improve water quality at the Sawgrass Lakes Stormwater Management Tract.
