PORT ST LUCIE – I’ve been longing for the Keys for a few weeks now but like so many others, have been too busy with work and family to take a long break. So instead, we decided to find a “new-to-us” restaurant on the water to relax and have a meal. After checking out many recommendations on Yelp, we chose to visit the Sebastian Saltwater Marina Restaurant. This casual seafood restaurant gave me that Florida Keys vibe I was hoping for.
The Saltwater Marina Restaurant is situated alongside the Indian River in the quaint and charming Sebastian community. Upon our arrival we were allowed to choose our seats on the weathered exterior deck and of course, chose a table next to the water. There are umbrellas covering each table to allow for shade but there was a nice breeze the day we visited so it was quite comfortable. There’s also an outdoor bar area offering additional seating overlooking the water.
The drink menu is exactly what you would expect for a Florida waterfront restaurant with nautical named cocktails. The Dock Rita, Shark Bait, Marker 65 Mojito and Boat Rocker are just a few of the many drinks offered. They also serve beer, including two local brewery specials which rotates out every month. My guest chose the Dragon Point IPA from Intracoastal Brewing Company in Melbourne. This was deemed a smooth beer, not bitter, with a lot of flavors. They do have a wine menu with sparkling, white and red options…
