Controlled burn to ignite at Savannas Preserve State Park, covering 325 acres

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A prescribed burn is set to take place on Friday at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Savannas Preserve State Park.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) said that the burn will cover approximately 325 acres of pine flatwoods located north and east of the end of Macquillen Road.
