STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — The City of Stuart is moving forward with a plan to cut its workforce to save nearly $1 million as the new fiscal year begins. The reduction will eliminate at least 11 city jobs, a number that could rise to 16 over the next two weeks, representing approximately three percent of the city’s total workforce.
City Manager Michael Mortell, who is overseeing the cuts, emphasizes the difficulty of the process, saying it is constantly on his mind.
