INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. (WPEC) — A new effort to find breakthroughs in decades-old unsolved cases arrived on the Treasure Coast on Wednesday as the Cold Case Advisory Commission, involving sheriffs’ offices and federal law enforcement from across the state, met to strategize on two local unsolved crimes.
Some of these cases, with little or no new leads, have remained open since the 1990s. The meeting, held at the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office in Vero Beach, aimed to apply the latest developments in forensics and artificial intelligence (AI) to these stagnant investigations.
