PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A new report detailing a nearly three-year investigation into former Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) Sergeant Robert Vega has been released, revealing shocking details from his work devices, though criminal charges against him were ultimately dropped. Vega resigned from the department in May of this year.

The investigation was tied to the 2022 “Martingate” scandal, which involved the alleged recruitment of out-of-district athletes to play for Martin County High School. Vega was originally charged with perjury and grand theft in connection with the case.
