Gallery 14 welcomes Jane Johnson back for another November showing of her work. This year the title will be: Spiritual Explorations: Paintings by Jane Johnson. The exhibit will open on Tuesday November 4th and run through Friday November 28th. There will be a First Friday Gallery Stroll Reception, with the artist in attendance, on November 7th from 5-8pm.
Jane paints on canvas and Yupo paper, a synthetic surface, using different tools to apply the paint; brushes, brayers, fingers, squeegees, pouring. Her art strives to achieve spirit made manifest. Her successful career as a painter began in 1996. Since then, Jane has participated in hundreds of shows around the country and won numerous awards. She and her husband currently split time between Port Charlotte, Florida, and Marquette, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula, where she enjoys spending time with family.
Featured, as well, will be watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, mixed media, assemblage, collage, sculpture, art glass, ceramic, and jewelry by Gallery 14 owners-artists: Lila Blakeslee, Barbara du Pont, Mary Ann Hall, Barbara Landry, Jessica Leto, Deborah Morrell Polackwich, Evan Schwarze and Dorothy Napp Schindel, as well as represented artists Walford Campbell, Jim Cohoe, Melanie Denison, Joan Earnhart, Mia Lindberg, Francis Mesaros, Michael Robinson, and Jo Zaza.
