Stuart police capture beach-clad fugitive after $93 dine-and-dash, failed getaway attempt

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A man dressed for the beach but wanted in Indiana was arrested in Stuart after skipping out on a $93 restaurant bill — and trying to outrun police.

The Stuart Police Department (SPD) said on October 4, officers responded to a local restaurant after staff reported a dine-and-dash incident involving a $93.06 tab.

The suspect, described as wearing orange swim trunks, a long-sleeved shirt, and a white baseball cap, identified himself to employees as “Kali” and assured them he would return to settle the bill. But, he didn’t, police say…
