Woman ‘Passionate’ About Child Care Allegedly Fractured 5-Month-Old’s Skull During Domestic Dispute

Those who know child care provider Georgeina Hayes claim the 38-year-old took pride in caring for children, but her recent arrest in St. Lucie County, Florida, appears to prove otherwise. Hayes and another woman allegedly got into a domestic dispute around 11 a.m. on October 16, 2025. It apparently turned violent, and investigators say Hayes not only physically attacked the other woman but also struck a 5-month-old baby in the process.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office shared details of the alleged crime in a news release, and it’s positively disturbing. A detective with the Fort Smith Police Department contacted the sheriff’s office after an infant arrived at an area hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators found the injuries reportedly occurred because of a physical altercation between Hayes and another adult female, per the release. Hayes allegedly attempted to strangle the other adult female, who ran for cover. She grabbed the infant and attempted to barricade herself and the baby in a bedroom to protect themselves.

“As she tried to close the door, Hayes began throwing punches, several of which struck the five-month-old infant,” authorities noted in the release. “The blows resulted in the injuries to the infant.”…
