Port St. Lucie will re-open its Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program (TBRA) in November 2025. The program provides rental assistance to eligible seniors. It is funded by a federal HOME grant and managed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program is for residents aged 62 and older who meet federal income guidelines. Qualified applicants can receive at least 12 months of rental assistance. The amount is based on income and rental costs.
Applications will be available online at cityofpsl.com/housing during the week of November 10-16, 2025. Paper applications and in-person assistance will be offered at City Hall, 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. The Neighborhood Services Department can assist applicants by email, phone, or in person.
Recipients must pay 30% of their adjusted monthly income toward rent. Assistance can be used for rent, security deposits, or utility deposits if relocation is needed. Funding is limited. Only the first 25 completed applications will be processed. The application window will close once this limit is reached…
