Detectives bust Port St. Lucie duo accused of scamming California man out of $20K

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Police say two Port St. Lucie men posing as bank reps nearly cashed in on a $20,000 scam until detectives beat them to the delivery.

Officers with the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) say 20-year-old Trey Romans and 25-year-old Jean Dorcena called a victim from California and pretended to be a representative of Chase Bank, saying his account was compromised.

Police say the victim mailed $20,000 to a Port St. Lucie address as instructed, then grew suspicious and contacted authorities after sending the money…
