71-Year-Old Cruise Ship Passenger Rescued Off Florida Coast by St. Lucie Firefighters and Coast Guard

A seriously ill cruise ship passenger was rescued off the Florida coast through a joint effort by the St. Lucie County Fire District (SLCFD) and the U.S. Coast Guard. According to CBS12, the rescue took place about seven miles offshore on Friday last week.

SLCFD Station 2 and the Coast Guard responded to a distress call after the passenger’s health deteriorated while on board the ship. The patient was safely transferred from the cruise ship to shore and then taken to a local hospital for medical treatment…
